What have you been up to since you graduated from Redwood?
After Redwood I went to College of Marin, dropped out, went to work in San Francisco. Moved to Florida, drove back home, by myself, to California. In December 1973, joined USMC, went tp Parris Island, South Carolina. In 1975 was transferred to Washington, D. C.. Was there for the bicentennial. Honorable discharge as a Sargeant. Came back to California and went to Santa. Rosa Jr. College on the G.I. Bill. Met my husband to be at the Veterans office at the J.C.. Graduated with an AA. Transferred to Sonoma State College. Majored in Economics. Got married and had 3 children. Went back to the JC took history classes, transferred to SSU and worked on an MA in history. Completed a secondary teaching credential didn't finish my thesis for my MA. Substituted for teachers for 5 years, unfortunately very few teaching jobs were available. Became employed as a Student Advisor at Santa Rosa High School. Worked there for 8 years and moved to Rincon Valley Middle School in 2004. At that time I also attended Empire Law School in Santa Rosa. Graduated in 2008, did not pass the Ssate Bar. Kept working at RVMS and retired in Dec. 2013 after 18 years in the district.
