Went to University of California, Santa Cruz where I received a BA in Biology and met my future wife (Cheryl). I then went to graduate school at University of California, Davis where I received a Ph.D. in Immunology with a focus on cancer therapy. I am currently the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) of a biotech company, Elucida Oncology. We have developed a targeted nanoparticle drug conjugate that is currently in clinical trials for the treatment of ovarian and endometrial cancers. I was previously CSO at Eleven Biotherapeutics working on therapeutics for non muscle invasive bladder cancer and head and neck cancer. Prior to moving to biotech I was on the faculty of the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, PA where I was the Co-Leader of the Developmental Therapeutics Program and then the Director of Biological Research and Therapeutics. I also headed a research lab focused on developing antibody-based treatments for ovarian and breast cancer. I recently co-founded a start up biotech company focused on the new field of computational protein design. Our lead agent is a redesigned hormone that we hope will be capable of directly killing many types of ovarian cancer cells.

Cheryl and I live in Hatboro, a small town in the Philadelphia suburbs, have two children, Nathan (35) and Meg (31), a yellow lab/golden retriever mix, Lily (11), an adopted 8 year old dog, Andi (very crazy).

I've taken up photography as a hobby and have recently started using a drone to get to get different perspectives.
