From the Redwood Darkroom to the Great Outdoors

Dan discovered his passion for photography while attending Redwood High School, where he served as both a photographer and Editor-in-Chief of The Redwood Bark. Growing up in Marin fostered a deep appreciation for the region's natural beauty, inspiring a lifelong pursuit of photographing landscapes throughout California and beyond.

 
Follow your Bliss

Much of Dan's work comes from returning to familiar locations, patiently waiting for the right combination of light, weather, and atmosphere. Whether photographing Mount Tamalpais, the Golden Gate Bridge, the California coast, or destinations farther afield, he strives to spark a deeper appreciation for the natural world and inspire others to seek out moments of wonder and awe. Through his photography, he celebrates the beauty of Marin and the Bay Area for both those who call it home and those who still feel a lasting connection to the place.

 

Career Highlights

 

Alongside his photography, Dan authored and edited Rizzoli's three-book photography series—New York City on Instagram, San Francisco on Instagram, and Los Angeles on Instagram—showcasing some of the most talented photographers during Instagram's early years. His work has also been widely published and licensed by leading media organizations and companies, appearing in publications such as Bloomberg, CNN, and Travel + Leisure and in projects for Apple, Microsoft, the San Francisco Giants, and Yosemite Conservancy.

Current Work

 

Today, Dan sells fine art prints throughout the United States, with his work displayed in homes, offices, healthcare facilities, and public spaces. He also provides commercial, real estate, and aerial photography services throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. His photography reaches an audience of more than 100,000 followers across Instagram and Facebook, where he shares new images and stories from the field.
