Brooks Tree Care
Brooks Tree Care was created 40 years ago by Arborist, Peter Brooks '79. In his passion for all things outdoors, along with his scientific knowledge, artistic & creative instinct and his bold sense of adventure. Climbing 200’ Eucs was his idea of a good time. While out & about, he was disturbed by the poor quality of tree trimming he was seeing all across Marin County back then. So, he set out to do something about that.
Peter is an excellent teacher. There are many Arborists throughout all these years, here in Northern California, who learned their professional climbing & pruning skills from him. Peter learned his craft through the Tree Climbing Crew, an elite training program at The Marin Conservation Corps from some very amazing teachers there. Peter is very proud of his son, Chad '10, who is a 4th generation Tiburon native and has chosen to walk along side him, often leading the way these days, on the path of trees.
Chad is Peter & Kim's oldest son and Foreman / Estimator / Climber here at Brooks Tree Care. And, he’s an all around great guy. He started climbing everything before he started walking and as a kid spent more time outdoors than indoors.
He is an engineer in his bones and he built a 1974 BMW 2002 between the ages of 16-18, doing every bit of it himself, from re-building the engine to the final paint job. Chad still enjoys inventing & building things and has also re-built two boats in recent years. He often mills the wood from trees we’ve had to remove, into beautiful live edge tables, cutting boards & bowls.
Chad pursued his studies in Arboriculture while at Santa Barbara City College where he would free dive for lobster and fish to feed himself & his friends. He earned his Deep Sea Diving, Marine Technology degree and also became an EMT.
