What have you been up to since you graduated from Redwood?
Went to University of California, Santa Cruz where I received a BA in Biology and met my future wife (Cheryl). I then went to graduate school at University of California, Davis where I received a Ph.D. in Immunology with a focus on cancer therapy. I am currently SVP of Research at Calytrix Bio, where we are developing treatments for Myeloproliferative Neoplasms. Prior to this I was the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) at Elucida Oncology where we developed a targeted nanoparticle drug conjugate for the treatment of ovarian and endometrial cancers, CSO at Eleven Biotherapeutics working on therapeutics for non muscle invasive bladder cancer and head and neck cancer. Prior to moving to biotech I was on the faculty of the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, PA where I was the Co-Leader of the Developmental Therapeutics Program, the Director of Biological Research and Therapeutics, headed a research lab focused on developing treatments for ovarian and breast cancer and co-founded a start up biotech company focused on the new field of computational protein design.
Cheryl and I live in Hatboro, a small town in the Philadelphia suburbs, have two adult children, Nathan and Meg and granddaughters from both, an aging yellow lab/golden retriever mix, Lily (14), an adopted 11 year old dog, Andi (very crazy).
I've taken up photography as a hobby and have recently started using a drone to get to get different perspectives.
