School Story:
I have so many amazing memories (most Great, some - not so much) from my four years at Redwood (yes, contrary to what you may have heard or remember, it was only 4): Pour Boy sandwiches from the C.E.A. for lunch; Mr. Sorrell (math) teaching me the meaning of the word "onerous"; the Quad; football practice & splitting my/school's helmet while covering a kickoff against Novato; Taking Latin (yeah, that didn't go well); Driver's Ed (can't wait for my Son, Casey to take it); The Flood of 1982; losing Jenny, Nicole, and Patrick (R.I.P.); how the halls seemed like entire cities between classes when I was a freshman and how it felt like I knew almost everybody by the time I was a senior; first kiss/first broken heart; all manner of after-school fun & debauchery, hanging out with Otto Wright; slinging water balloons off of the roof of the gym, with the Jim Headly, Lars Pacheco, and the Kreuter Brothers - last day of school, 1982; YEARBOOKS and some stuff that was written in them that I won't share on here (you know who you are); feeling young, strong, carefree, and immortal like that Bob Seger song.
If you're reading this, thank you for being a part of that.
